Beer made from 45 million year old yeast
Professor Raul Cano of the California Polytechnic State University has successfully brought 45 million year old yeast back to life in a new beer. Cano extracted the yeast from a Lebanese weevil, which was trapped in ancient Burmese amber. See Ancient Yeast Reborn in Modern Beer.
